The Reason for This Site:
The primary reason for developing this site is the incredible amount of misinformation and all out campaigning done today by various media outlets particularly during times of national elections. All too many times when we, the American public, are presented with an event or news worthy story, we get too much senseless commentary that is often skewed by the person presenting it so that it favors whichever candidate or party that they are ultimately “campaigning” for. Often if one hears the very same event on different news channels or reads about the event in various newspapers we are presented with very different “facts” and ultimately, often poorly drawn, very different, conclusions.
The opinion here is simply that too many people are hearing false or misleading stories which, of course, leads people to believe that the information that they “heard” is fact. This, to me, is simply a form of presenting propaganda that supports the candidate or party that the, so called, news outlet, is supporting. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and can surely draw one’s own conclusion but I seriously feel as though major media outlets have a responsibility to at least provide facts as their representations of a given news story does have an effect on their viewers opinions and actions particularly when it comes to elections.
I have absolutely no problem with anyone having their own opinion on any subject, however, when the general public depends on gathering their information from media outlets they have a reasonable expectation that what they are hearing is actually true. To me, communication, along with the ways we communicate, have had the largest effect on virtually every event that has occurred over the past fifty (most certainly much longer) years.
